What Was WWI's Connection to WWII?
Germany was humiliated by the outcome of WWI. They were forced to take full blame for the war, and it had destroyed their economy. Adolf Hitler was a fanatic politician who was attempting to gain power. He manipulated Germany's feelings by telling them that their hard times would soon be all over. He promised more jobs, better economy-- basically a new Germany. The people, desperate and depressed, eagerly ate up his words and looked forward to being a proud nation again...
If your country was in a similar situation, and someone came along who promised to fix it all in exchange for your allegiance, would you follow him? Even if it meant sometimes turning a blind eye to things he did that might seem a little... off? Write about that.

NEWSIES
In the movie "Newsies", a group of boys are struggling to earn the money to survive in New York in 1890 by selling newspapers. Some greedy newspaper tycoons raise the cost of papers, making it harder for the boys to earn their wages. They decide that the tycoons won't get away with it.
"The World Will Know"
It takes a little encouragement for the boys to be brave enough to keep up with the strike.
"Seize the Day"
In order to be successful, they have to recruit poor newsies all over the state. They decide to make their own newspaper to spread the word.

Revolutions
-
Political Authority over someone else (absolutism)
Many countries throughout history have been ruled by a
controlling King/ Queen. I am sure to them some of the King’s commands and laws
have seemed ridiculous and foolish. However, they had to follow them if they
wanted to keep their job, save their lives, or their family’s lives.
-
Social (huge populations, food shortages)
Many cities in Europe were becoming over-crowed with
people, especially if certain classes of people were allowed in certain areas.
Also, because there were so many people it lead to a food shortage in various
countries around Europe.
- Religious:
(disagreeing and splitting apart/ forming something new)
Reformation: a sudden change in
something. Not necessarily violent!
-
Intellectual (Questioning and entrepreneurs lead to the
industrial revolution)
Questioning and thinking about thing can also lead to
a revolution.
Industrial Revolution: was a time when new ideas, new technology, machines,
and inventions were being created that were replacing old traditions and
methods.
~another huge event during the industrial revolution was changes in transportation.
Discuss how these different inventions and new
discoveries could have suddenly change society.
