Cardinal Directions:  main directions North, South, East and West.

Longitude:  imaginary lines that run up and down the earth the l-o-o-o-n-g way.

Hemisphere: a half of the earth.
Equator:  an imaginary line that divides the earth into northern and southern hemispheres.  0 degrees latitude.
Prime Meridian:  an imaginary line that divides the earth into eastern and western hemispheres.  0 degrees longitude.
